Adult Drama Classes

Tonight we had an absolute brilliant time in our adult drama classes in Olivedale. For an hour myself and my students are able to escape from the world and enter into a world full of laughter, tragedy, drama, sadness, excitement and hysteria. From improvisations to speech, to duologues to group activities every week is an adventure :) No matter your age everyone needs a bit of escapism and drama gives us just that!

Drama is Magic!

Every Monday from 9:00-9:30 the children of Magic Beings Pre-School attend their Kindy Drama lesson. We go to the school which is situated in Olivedale and run these lessons over 10 weeks per a term. The Kindy program is such fun as we use props, books and dress-up items! Yesterday we explored the world of fantasy and we asked the kids to get their imaginations working. Take a look at this wonderful pic of the students dressed up as different characters-toooooo cute :)

Leading the way in Drama!

Today marked the final day of the national Helen O'Grady annual seminar. Pretorias Principal Julie won blogger of the year-well done Julie:) And a huge congrats to Anita from Joburg North East for winning Franchisor of the year:) All the sharing, learning and creating of the past 2 days just shows how our Academy is leading the way for Drama Education!

Colourful Costume Creations

The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy held its end of year productions at the end of November. We challenged our students to create there own costumes for the plays...the students showed their true colours when they arrived to their dress rehearsals fully kitted and as bright as ever. Take a look at some of the exciting 'costumes for the Pirate Joe Play:

Our older students had to put together outfits for a play all about the circus - just look at some of the bright ideas:
