Olivedale Community gets treated to Drama on Thursdays

Every Thursday the Olivedale Community is able to participate in Drama at the local library on President Fouche Drive. The classes are very affordable, developmental, convenient and fun! Megan teaches these classes from 3pm-4pm for the littlies; and from 4pm-5pm for the biggies. Check out this shot of the very talented Olivedale group warming up with Megs. Weekend Drama

Saturday's are great Drama days at our Academy. We have 2 studios running on a Saturday-our first studio kicks off in Berario near Northcliff at 9am. We run a class for 5-8year olds and 9-12year olds; Teacher Dyane has been teaching at this studio since we launched it a year ago and her classes just keep growing because she's such a lovely drama teacher who understands what our program is all about. Our other studio runs in Norscot which is near Fourways and Douglasdale! This studio has been running for almost 5 years and it's extremely popular with stents because it has a wonderful get-away-from Joburg feel! Teacher Megan takes these classes and there are 3 groups that run for 5-8year olds, 9-12year olds and 13-18year olds. The Saturday classes are so convenient and for just an hour each weekend your child will be developed for life, a small sacrifice for a giant reward. Blairgowrie filling up!

Blairgowrie Drama classes started today at the blairgowrie recreation centre. Class runs from 4pm-5pm and the lesson is jam-packed with fun yet developmental activities. The Helen O'Grady programme is brilliant at getting kids to use their bodies as tools for performance! We try to get the students to think out the box, to realize that we can have fun by using our imaginations and minds rather than sitting behind a television box and allowing everything to be fed to us! The reason I love the programme so much is that I have seen children develop from introverted and shy individuals into effective communicators who aren't scared to show the world their perspective. The class is extremely convenient and we're just one block down from Delta Park School. 2012 - So far...So good!!!

Yesterday saw the Academy hit a new record - 61 students arrived to class at our Boskruin/Randpark studio!!! It was such an awesome day full of fun drama activities that not only encouraged the students but challenged them too :) Our weekend classes are becoming very popular as they are very convenient for working parents. Today we kick off our Saturday classes, and of course the aim of the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy is to please...so we have not 1 but 2 studios running in different areas. The Berario studio runs at the Berario Recreation Centre from 9:00-10:00 every Saturday - its location is perfect for families living in the West Rand area and Teacher Dyane is fantastic with the students! We also have classes running at the Norscot Recreation Centre. From 10:30-11:30 sees our 5-8 year old students doing drama; at 11:30-12:30 our 9-12 year olds get together; and then the BIGGEST class of the day is our teenage group which has classes from 12:30-13:30.  Im off to teach at Norscot now....I will let you all know how it goes :)
